Willoughby Townes, a Southern Development community, broke ground in September 2004. The upscale, urban community is conveniently located at the corner of 5th Street Extended and Harris Road. Willoughby offers a total of 46 beautifully designed town homes including both two and three story floor plans.
According to Chris Sylves, Director of Sales at Southern Development, there are only a few homes remaining. "We are putting the finishing touches on the last four units which are scheduled for a summer delivery," Chris confirmed. "We are very pleased with how the community turned out. We feel like we played a big part in the revitalization of 5th Street."
Besides convenience, a major attraction of Willoughby Townes is the spaciousness of the homes. Buyers are able to select floor plans ranging from 1,400 to as many as 2,000 square feet of bright, open, living space. In addition to the well-crafted floor plans, owners also enjoy great affordability, with pricing starting at $299,900.
In typical Southern Development fashion, all the homes at Willoughby Townes are full of upgrades, with high-end materials inside and out. The community will first catch your eye with its striking brick and Hardiplank exteriors, complete with front porches and garages on specific units. The interiors feature stunning hardwood floors and stairs, spacious kitchen and family room areas, ceramic tile, and maple cabinetry in every home.
The convenience of this charming neighborhood is well evident. Willoughby Townes lies just minutes from the Downtown Mall, the University of Virginia and I-64. Willoughby Townes, which is marketed by Real Estate III, is only a block away from the city bus line. Making it the perfect haven for UVA grad students, medical personnel at Martha Jefferson and the University of Virginia hospitals, as well as UVA faculty and others working downtown.
Southern Development proudly displays their craftsmanship in the Model Home which is open Friday through Tuesday from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m. Hillary Losacano, Southern Development’s Sales Manager for the City of Charlottesville, can show available units, explain financing options, and answer any questions regarding the home buying process.
Southern Development will also soon begin work on their newest project off 5th Street Extended, Brookwood, in another great downtown location. "We should be underway in Brookwood sometime in May," Chris noted. "These will all be larger homes, from 2,400 square feet of living space and up."
Ever wished you could have an interior designer come design your home's interior? Southern Development enlisted the expertise of an interior designer who was involved throughout the development stages to help create many exciting custom color schemes and selections packages for their homebuyers. "Our designer packages offer distinct colors and materials that have been professionally selected to better coordinate the interiors," says Chris. "From ceramic tile, counter tops, and paint colors, to the smallest details like your lighting and plumbing fixtures, Brookwood can offer interested buyers masterfully designed interiors." New homeowners will be able to move into the new villa-styled homes in Brookwood as early as this fall (2006).
Chris Sylves comes to Southern Development from Northern Virginia where he worked for the past 10 years in the home building industry. "I'm really excited to move to Charlottesville and join the real estate community with Southern Development Homes and Real Estate III," Chris said.
