Albemarle County’s Newest Neighborhood is well underway with seven homes to tour!
The new community of Hyland Ridge is creating lots of excitement in the real estate community. And why shouldn’t it? With EarthCraft™ -Certified and NextGen homes being built by established local homebuilders Southern Development Homes and Craig Builders, homeowners can expect optimal energy efficiency and superior quality construction. And location? Couldn’t be better!
Hyland Ridge is conveniently tucked away between Fontana and Ashcroft in Albemarle County. The new community is less than two miles from downtown Charlottesville, Martha Jefferson Hospital and Interstate 64.
Hyland Ridge will have 97 homes in all with spacious half-acre home sites. Plus, there will be 7 preservation lots ranging from three to twenty-one acres. The community was strategically designed to provide generous rear yards, many of which back up to the wooded preservation areas, streams and walking trails. The tree-lined streets and sidewalks add more appeal to the convenient neighborhood. All the homes will be constructed by proven, local builders – Craig Builders and Southern Development Homes. These are companies which have been part of the community for many years and will be around for years to come. Service after the sale is part of the legacy of Craig Builders and Southern Development Homes.
Hyland Ridge will feature a mix of home plans offering featuring one level living, 1st floor masters, and larger 5-6 BR family home plans. A mix of exterior design elevations will include Traditional, French Country, and Craftsman style. The plans range from 2,400 square feet (all on one level) to 5,000 square foot family home plans.
Southern Development Homes has introduced five brand new floor plans featuring open main level designs with gourmet kitchens, and special features such as sunrooms, screened porches, drop zones/mudrooms, media rooms and reading nooks. The plans range from The Monroe, with 2,400 square feet and 3 BRs all on one level to 5,000+ sq. ft. family home plans such as The Sutherland and Hamilton. The Waverly offers the best of both worlds with a first floor master suite and the ability to add a 2nd master upstairs for a total of 5 bedrooms.
All Southern Development Homes will be EarthCraft-certified, which means lower utility costs, enhanced indoor air quality, increased comfort, added resale value and a greatly reduced home maintenance cost. Each Southern Development home packs a big punch with standard features that many would consider upgrades. The well-appointed homes have distinctive Hardiplank siding exteriors and Trex Trescends front porches. The gourmet kitchens include stainless steel 36” 5- burner cooktops with wall mount hoods, along with built-in microwave and convection wall ovens. Customers can choose stained or painted maple cabinetry with full overlay doors featuring the soft-action close system and dovetailed drawer construction, granite countertops, and large center islands for entertaining. There are hardwood floors throughout the main level common areas and ceramic flooring in all the full baths with frameless shower doors in the master bedroom.
Craig Builders plans begin with the popular Pavilion model at 2,135 square feet plus the garage and extend through the Squire model – a spacious 3,400 square foot home with a garage and huge unfinished basement. And there are many models in between sure to satisfy the most discerning homeowners.
With prices starting in the $500,000 range, all the Craig Builders’ homes feature NextGen Energy Efficient certification for reduced costs and increased comfort. Fully customizable floor plans can include first floor living, first floor masters and colonial style homes. Look for 2×6 exterior walls, R-20 insulation, and Hardiplank exteriors with front porches and extensive stonework in each Craig home. Inside boasts open concept great room and kitchen plans, stunning Chef’s Kitchen options, spacious owner’s suites with his and hers walk-in closets, study’s with custom millwork and bookshelves. Hardwood flooring, ceramic in baths and mudrooms, upgraded cabinetry and much more are included.
